Hollywood story consultant, script analyst, and author

Ray Morton was born in New York and grew up on Long Island and in Connecticut.

Morton attended New York University and graduated with a BFA in Film and Television Production. He then attended the American Film Institute as a Screenwriting Fellow. Morton has written for film and television and was a story consultant and writer for the landmark Showtime/Paramount series Brothers.

He has written film and screenwriting-related articles for numerous publications and was a senior writer and columnist for Script Magazine. Morton has been a script reader for several major studios and has worked as a screenplay consultant for producers, professional screenwriters, and aspirants. He has written seven books on film history, screenwriting, and film directing and contributed to several cinematic oral histories and collections.
