Ray Morton has over twenty-five years-experience as a story analyst and screenplay consultant.
As an analyst, Morton has evaluated feature film screenplays and teleplays for Paramount Pictures, Columbia Pictures, Pandora Cinema, and Castle Rock Entertainment. He has also read for a variety of independent producers and for Final Draft’s ScriptXpert service.
As a screenplay consultant, Morton has provided detailed rewrite and development notes on scripts for producers, professional screenwriters, and aspiring screenwriters.
Morton has also read for several screenwriting competitions, including Big Break. He was also a member of the final selection jury for the 1998 KASA competition, was a featured panelist at the 2001 Las Vegas Screenwriters Conference, and was a panel moderator at the 2006 and 2007 Scriptwriters Showcase conferences.
Morton is available for both professional and private consultation and offers the following services:
- Level 1: At this level, Ray will read your screenplay and provide you with a 3-5 page written analysis identifying both the script’s strengths and its problem areas, as well as an assessment of its marketplace potential. Fee: $225.
- Level 2: The level includes all of the services from Level 1, along with 3-5 additional pages of notes addressing your script’s specific problems and offering suggestions for revision and improvement. Fee: $325.
- Tutorial: This service includes a reading, analysis, and a set of notes on the first draft of your script, as well as a reading of each of your next two drafts accompanied by a follow-up telephone conference in which the progress on your script is reviewed and analyzed. Fee: $800.
